Dan Clites serves the mission of Christ Lutheran Church as its Senior Pastor. Before moving to the beautiful Whitefish area in October of 2020, he served 7½ years as the National Coordinator for Church Planting Development for Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC Staff, based out of Minneapolis, MN). In that time, Dan coached over 90 planters to start over 60 congregations around the US and Mexico. That time span was also dedicated to serving as a Metro Area Director for the Twin Cities Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). Prior to that, Dan planted and led Rejoice! Church in Northfield, MN for 10-years (2003-2013). After graduating from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN, in 1995, Dan pastored churches in Cannon Falls, Brainerd and Clearwater, MN.
Want to talk sports…and faith? Dan is your man! After graduating with a dual degree in Mass Communions and English from Minnesota State Moorhead University, MN, in 1984, Dan worked 9-years as an on-air television sports anchor and reporter for WDAY and WDAZ-TV in Fargo and Grand Forks, ND.
Dan and Joanne have been married since 1985 and have two adult children, Breanna and Aimee. Both are married. Breanna has two children— making Dan and Joanne proud grandparents! The Clites’ greatly enjoy hiking, following all sports, studying how faith and culture can better connect, and being with family and friends while just doing regular life with folks.
Director of Children & Family Ministries
Kari McCrady has been on staff at Christ Lutheran church since December, 2002, first as Director of Youth Ministry and currently as Director of Children & Family Ministry. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Youth Ministry and had her first taste of full time ministry at Shepherd of the Valley in Apple Valley, MN. The Lord eventually called her and her husband to Montana to work at Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp and the position at CLC opened up soon after.
Kari and Mark have a daughter, Linnea, and a son, Gavin, who continue to teach them what’s most important in life. They love ‘doing life’ with the people of CLC and continue to enjoy God’s beautiful creation all around this valley.
Director of Youth Ministries
Kendra O’Brien has been on staff at Christ Lutheran Church since October 2018 as the Director of Youth Ministries. She graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelors in Communications and Marketing. She got her first opportunity to work in youth ministry while on staff at Outlaw Ranch in Custer, South Dakota summer 2017. After working as an intern for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Atlanta, Georgia the Lord placed the call for youth ministry in Montana on her heart.
Not long after that she found this position at CLC and moved up here, without hesitation, a few short months after that. Some of Kendra’s passions include missions, outreach, reading, hiking, fishing, skiing and spending time with friends and family. Kendra was born and raised in Colorado where her parents, Michael and Maria, and older sister Seymone still currently reside.
