Mission Statement

The Caring Ministries of Christ Lutheran Church exist to take the light of Christ into the world by sharing the love of Christ with those in need and equipping each member to use his/her gifts to serve each other in love.

Foundational Scriptures

“This is my command; Love each other.”
John 15:17

“All the believers were together and had everything in common.”
Acts 2:44

“Carry each others burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
Galations 6:2

Ministry Opportunities

The people serving in Caring Ministries share the love of Christ by caring for others through prayer, by walking alongside those who are hurting, by providing physical help when needed, and by building faith community through a culture of authentic fellowship.

The cluster of ministries that make up Caring Ministries provide opportunities to discover your gifts, use your gifts, and grow in the expression of faith. There are no boundaries between these ministries; they overlap and flow into each other in ways that bring fullness to your faith. As I cook a meal I also pray; as I pray I also learn to listen. Please call the church office if you would like to talk about how the Lord is calling you to ‘come follow me’.

Prayer Ministry

Prayer Ministry at Christ Lutheran Church exists to invite the people of God to open our hearts to Christ so that through prayer we can make these movements: Upward towards closeness with God; Inward to transformation; and Outward to minister to others!

Prayer Team Opportunities

Prayer Advocates

The Prayer Advocate Team exists to pray for the concerns mentioned through the care cards and those in the Sunday bulletin. There are several ways to be a Prayer Advocate; one is to join an already existing Prayer Team; another way is to pray on your own with an expanded prayer list available online; an additional way to reach out in prayer is to start your own prayer team, the Prayer Room located in the Gathering Place is available to anyone and anytime. Your prayers bless and truly make a difference for God’s people in this place and even outside this community.

Card and Phone Prayer Team

The Card and Phone Prayer Team reach out in prayer in a personal and consistent way to those on our prayer list and those in need. Each team member is assigned a number of people (you choose the number) that you will encourage and pray for through a phone call or by sending a card each month.

Prayer Shawl Team

The prayer shawl team prays for someone on our prayer list as they knit or crochet a shawl. The shawl is then hand delivered and the person who is in need is prayed with.

Emergency Prayer Chain Team

The Emergency Prayer Chain Team is made up of a group of people who are available at all times to pray for immediate prayer concerns that arise. Team members are organized into a phone tree to pass along the prayer request.

Sunday Morning Worship Prayer Team

Sunday Morning Prayer Team prays for the Sunday Worship Services. The team meets in the conference room and prays for those attending and listening on the radio and also for the Pastors that they will be filled with the Holy Spirit so that the gospel is proclaimed with grace and truth.

Shepherd’s Hand Prayer Team

The Shepherd’s Hand Prayer Team provides caring listeners to pray personally with those in need at Shepherd’s Hand Clinic. Training is available and much of this ministry is creating a hospitable atmosphere by visiting with the patients at the clinic.

Special Events Prayer Team

This team assists in the planning and organization of special prayer events throughout the year. These events include the Annual Lenten Prayer Vigil, Concerts of Prayer, National Day of Prayer, and any other special prayer events.

You may leave a prayer request on the Prayer page. If you would like more information please contact Rich Dolvin.
